Posting a task is easy and free! Simply click on "Post a Task", choose the category that best fits your needs, provide a detailed description, set your location, and indicate your budget. Once published, local HYRs will be notified and can start applying to your job.

How do I become a HYR?

To become a HYR, click on "Sign Up" and choose the provider option. You'll need to create an account, verify your identity via our secure Stripe Identity integration, and set up your profile with your skills and rates. HYRs pay a one-time £20 fee for lifetime access to the platform.

All payments are handled securely through our platform via Stripe. A small service fee is applied to each booking to cover platform costs and secure payment processing. Clients are charged when a task is completed to their satisfaction. We hold the funds securely and release them to the HYR. We do not support off-platform cash payments to ensure the safety and security of both parties.

If you are unsatisfied with a task or encounter an issue, we encourage you to try to resolve it directly with the other party first through our messaging system. If an agreement cannot be reached, you can open a dispute via your dashboard, and our support team will step in to mediate and find a fair resolution.

For Clients, joining the platform and posting tasks is completely free. You pay the agreed-upon amount for the completed task plus a small service fee. For HYRs, there is a one-time £20 subscription fee which grants lifetime access to find and apply for jobs on the platform.

What happens if a client cancels my task?

If a client cancels a task you were assigned to, your reliability score is NOT affected. You will receive a notification confirming this. If the cancellation occurs after the 1-hour grace period, you will keep the first-hour deposit as compensation for your reserved time.

How does the grace period work?

When a HYR is assigned to your task, a 1-hour grace period begins. During this time, either party can cancel without any consequences, and the deposit is fully refunded. After the grace period, cancellation consequences apply as outlined in our Terms of Service.

What is my reliability score?

Your reliability score is a metric displayed on your HYR profile (ranging from 0-100) that reflects your cancellation history. Importantly, only cancellations that YOU initiate count against your score. Client cancellations never affect it. You also get 2 free cancellations per month for genuine emergencies.

Can I cancel a task I've accepted?

Yes, HYRs can cancel accepted tasks. You're allowed 2 free cancellations per calendar month to account for genuine emergencies. Beyond that, each additional cancellation will affect your publicly visible reliability score. When you cancel, the client always receives a full deposit refund.

What is the booking deposit?

When a client accepts a HYR's application, a first-hour deposit is charged immediately. This secures the HYR's time and creates financial commitment from both parties. The deposit is deducted from the total task cost at completion. If the task is less than one hour, the deposit equals the full task amount.
